Face masks at Orange

It’s good to wear a face mask whenever you leave the house. They are one way we can protect ourselves and others. Read more on when you must wear a face mask at Orange on Unite against COVID-19.

Testing and isolating

If you develop COVID-19 symptoms or are a household contact of someone with COVID-19, get tested immediately. Read about COVID-19 testing.

People with COVID-19 and household contacts must isolate for 7 days, with tests on days 3 and 7 for household contacts. Find advice on the COVID-19 Health Hub or call Healthline on 0800 358 5453.

OUR Covid-19 Communications

Update

Our communications regarding COVID-19 positive cases or close-contacts will be with parents, students and staff members affected, or potentially affected by COVID-19.

Parents and students who do not receive communications directly from the College can carry on in a business as usual manner as we expect the School day and extracurricular activities to continue as planned. If School-wide changes to our operating procedures are required in the future, we will communicate with the entire College community at that time.

Our communications

  • A member of our Senior Leadership Team or Dean will inform students (and their parents) if the School/Public Health has identified them as a close-contact while under our authority.

  • Parents will be asked to collect their daughters immediately from School.

  • Anyone identified as a close-contact by the School or Public Health should get tested, watch for any symptoms of COVID-19 and remain at home for seven days’ post-exposure and test again on day five

  • Teachers will be asked to post class work onto Google Classroom for students who are self-isolating after receiving a positive result, or because they are a close-contact of a person who has tested positive

  • We will continue to apply the Privacy Act 2020 when communicating about students or staff affected by COVID-19

  • We will continue to work with the Ministry of Education and Public Health over COVID-19 related matters.

Your communications

  • Should your daughter receive a positive result from a COVID-19 test, she should not return onsite and we ask you to inform the School immediately.

  • Should your daughter be identified as a close contact by Public Health, from an event or activity he attended in her personal time, she should not return on-site and we ask you to inform the School immediately via email.

  • Should your daughter be self-isolating after being at a location of interest, please inform Attendance in the usual manner via our app, email or phone system

  • Please do not contact teachers directly to ask for work to be set for your daughter. Once you have communicated your daughter's situation via email, we will coordinate communications with teachers and organise work online
