We ask your prayers for Sister Agnes Finucane, who died unexpectedly but peacefully on 29 September at St Mary’s Convent, Wellington. 

Sr Agnes was born and brought up in Wellington and attended St Mary’s College for her secondary education.  After entering the Sisters of Mercy she taught at the college during the 1960s.  As well as teaching, during that time she was also the Boarders Mistress for a number of years.  

She was neighbour to the College during the last years of her life.  Prayer, simplicity and hospitality were central to who she was and how she lived. She had a practical and positive outlook on life and was grateful for all the gifts life gave her.   Kia okioki ia i runga i te rangimarie.  May she rest in the peace and love of God.
