Senior Derived Grade Examinations
Practice examinations will run from Wednesday September 14 - Wednesday September 21st (inclusive). Senior students are only required to attend school for their examinations during this period, and are on study leave the rest of the time.
These provide a valuable opportunity for senior students to experience the same conditions as the NCEA exams in Term 4. Results from the exams will help students to see what progress they have made in each external standard and to identify what learning still needs to occur.
It is important that students prepare well for these exams, because in the event of not being able to sit an NCEA exam at the end of the year, these results will be provided to NZQA to create a derived grade.
For some practical portfolio subjects there are workshops scheduled as well. All students are expected to attend these as well as they will give students an opportunity to complete these.
There will also be a supervised space for students to come in and study if they need to. All students that are on the school site are required to wear full uniform.
