Kia ora koutou
Thank you for your support as we experience PPTA industrial action at SMC. The vast majority of our teaching staff are PPTA members and therefore the current industrial action has a significant impact on our operations.
Below is a reminder of the year level rolling strike dates for Term 2 that the PPTA has notified. On the dates listed below, we are unable to run classes for the affected year level and students in that year level should not come to school. Students in all other year levels should attend as usual. For example, on Thursday 11 May, Year 13 students should not come to school, but Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 students come to school as usual.

Students can work remotely on ongoing class work while rostered home but teachers will not be setting specific work for the above strike days.
The school library will be open for students to study on their rostered day home if they cannot be supervised at home. Please ensure students sign in at reception when they arrive and leave so we know they are on the school site.
Going forward we will send out a reminder email to the affected year level the day before their rostered home day(s).
Should the PPTA’s position with respect to the above strike dates change, we will notify you immediately.
