Buy-A-Brick: Leave a Legacy

By purchasing a named engraved brick in the College’s Access Walkway (pictures to the right), you can both create and leave a very special permanent legacy on the College grounds for you, your child(ren) and their families to return to now, and for generations to come. Collegians, Current Students, Families, Current & Past Parents, Staff & Supporters and Corporates are all invited to buy a brick, tile or name on the Honours Board and take permanent pride of place in or near our new Access walkway.

The Leave a Legacy campaign opens on 1 July 2022 and it will be officially launched at a St Mary’s College Alumni event at Parliament in September 2022. This special fund has been established for the sole purpose of raising funds for the Major Works project: Accessibility bridge between the McAuley and Carlow buildings. The funds raised will be managed independently from the College by the St Mary’s College Board of Proprietors Directors, with all income generated used exclusively to fund this major works project.

To ensure the educational and special character success of future generations being available for the next 100 years, we are undertaking a major fundraising drive to grow our Major Works fund, with an initial target of $2.6 million. The funds for this Major Works project have been funded through debt-servicing of the NZ Catholic school system whereby compulsory attendance dues are used to fund the debt necessary to bring schools up to the equivalent state standard up to $(add value).

We need your help to cover the remainder of the funds, to enable this project to go ahead. The Accessibility Bridge project build will start in 2024, allowing us time to raise funds over the next year, to support this project.

We welcome donations from all members of the College community. Every donation will be honoured and invested wisely and will literally change the lives of young women today, and for years to come.
